PCCM 58G Elkhart to Chicago

Greetings and welcome to P.C.C.M. 58G. We pick up the westbound leg of P.C.C.M. 58 rolling across the Indiana countryside heading towards Chicago and points west.

Our lead unit is Penn Central SD38 #6934. The Penn Central typically used their SD38's in Hump Yard and transfer service. The Mechanical Department decided to blow the carbon out of the prime movers on these yard units and send them on a train west to Chicago. This is their P.C.C.M. debut.

Penn Central SD38 #6958 is the second unit of our Chicago bound consist. Rolling through Indiana.

From Cavendish Fine Spirits and Foods, we have a hopper car full of Wort pellets being sent to Denver Union Stockyards as livestock feed. Nothing finer than Cavendish Wort pellets.

Loaded with cement flux from the GERN plant in West Mill, NY. This covered hopper is headed to the GERN facility in Arvada, CO. It will make the cement production at least 3% better overall.

A shipment of Barley being sent to Tivoli Brewery in Denver. Coming from Cargill in Empire City. We'll make sure some of the final product makes it back to Empire City for the thirsty beer drinkers.

A shipment of fine furniture from Superior Furniture in Empire City to American Furniture in Denver.

Two Penn Central Hi-Cube boxcars headed to Gates Rubber plant in South Denver. They were sent from the Bedford Park Ford Plant on the N.Y.C.T.L.

An empty Celanese tank car is headed to the Globeville Celanese plant in North Denver. It was sent from the Ford Plant in Bedford Park.

An Empire Belt boxcar loaded with grocery products for Red Owl Grocery Store. Unfortunately the Red Owl rail dock was set on fire by a group of Hobos trying to stay warm. The shipment will be offloaded at the Associated Grocery Warehouse and trucked to the Red Owl warehouse trucking dock.

A PRR boxcar loaded with shipping crates and pallets from Neal's Lumber. It's headed to the Coor's Brewery in Golden, Colorado. With any luck some of those crates will be loaded with Coors and Keystone Beer for the thirsty factory and railroad crews working hard in Empire City.

A Burlington Reefer is headed empty from Ralph's Grocery Warehouse to the meat packing plant row at the Denver Union Stockyards.

A Pacific Fruit Express reefer is headed empty from Empire Produce to Denargo Produce Market in Denver, CO. Ready to be reloaded with more fresh fruits and vegetables.

As a result of the increased traffic between the Lehigh Valley and Boston & Maine with the Kings Port & Western. We are seeing some more cars being interchanged with the partner P.C.C.M. roads.

Some more traffic being generated with the Erie Lackawanna and connections west.

An HRC boxcar headed empty to the Pepsi plant in North Denver. Ready to bring some Pepsi products back to Georgia for the under served Pepsi drinkers there.

A Great Northern double door boxcar headed to Galesburg, IL. It will be routed back to the GN.

Some industrial products headed west from the Empire City Industrial sector.

Also headed west is this SP 40ft boxcar, often seen in the West Mill and Kings Port region of NY.

Bringing up the rear is Penn Central Northeast style caboose #18425. Thanks for reading!!!
