Greetings and Welcome to Part 2 of the P.C.C.M. 64 Series. Here we find a trio of Penn Central locomotives headed west towards Chicago. Much of this train originated in Selkirk, N.Y. With some stops along the way. Let's see what is headed to Chicago and points west.
Leading our trio of Elephant style locomotives is Penn Central GP35 #2277
Running the traditional Pennsy long hood forward is PC #5706. It has been recently released from the paint shop sporting its new PC paint scheme.
Bringing up the rear of our locomotive trio is PC #1878. The former Rio Grande unit sports a new "Black Dip" paint scheme.
From the N.Y.C.T.L. we have a Pennsy boxcar loaded with bulk hardware from American Hardware and Supply. It's headed to Barton Manufacturing in Denver.
First car from the K.P.D., is this Burlington gondola loaded with scrap aluminum for Ball Container in Golden, Colorado. It will become beer and soda cans for recycle minded customers.
This SP 40ft boxcar is loaded with bags of flour for the Star Bread Company in Denver. It's being sent from Blue Ribbon Flour on the K.P.D.
A Boston & Maine boxcar from Peerless Appliances loaded with repair parts for Lefty Martin Appliances in Denver, Colorado.
Here's a shot of Lefty's place on Colorado Boulevard in the 1990's. I've kept the wife's appliances running strong with repair parts from Lefty's Place.
This Rock Island boxcar is loaded with TV's from Zenith on the Mayfield Branch. It is also headed to Lefty Martin TV and Appliance in Denver, Colorado.
Here's another shot of Lefty's place from the 1990's.
An empty N&W hopper making its way to the Southern Illinois coal mines.
This Illinois Central boxcar is loaded with tractor parts. It's headed to a supply house in Iowa.
This Rock Island hopper is headed to the Steel Mills located along the shores of Lake Michigan
This OC&E boxcar is returning empty to home rails after making a lumber products delivery.
This Rio Grande boxcar is returning to Golden, Colorado for more aluminum beverage cans.
This Santa Fe boxcar is loaded full of glass long neck bottles for Tivoli Brewery in Denver, CO.
This Penn Central gondola is headed for a scrap dealer in the Chicago area.
This former New Haven, now PC boxcar is loaded with empty tin cans headed to the West Coast
Bringing up the rear is this former Lehigh Valley caboose in its new PC paint scheme.
