P.C.C.M. 51E Arrivals in Galesburg

Welcome and greetings to P.C.C.M. 51E. So far we have seen P.C.C.M. 51 travel from Empire City on the NYCTL. We saw the train depart with three classic Alco FA units and a lone CB&Q F-unit in the consist. Later the lone Q F-unit was spotted by John B. in the Chicago area. Now our F-unit has found it's way to Galesburg, IL. on a Pool Power train with some classic Penn Central F-units.

Next in line of our classic F-unit consist, is Penn Central F7B #3439.

And finally in our three unit consist is Penn Central F7A #1743. The two Penn Central F-units will be tacked on to a Pool Power train and sent back East to Elkhart, IN. The Q F-unit is scheduled to be sent West to Omaha, NE. with a train of empty reefers and stock cars. The venerable "Grey Back" is still earning her keep getting trains on and off the system to their destinations.

Returning empty from Empire City, NY., this Morrell reefer will be returned to the Morrell plant in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It will soon be reloaded and sent East again for hungry customers.

This BREX reefer is returning to the produce growing areas of the West, to be loaded for market.

This Santa Fe reefer is headed back to the West Coast from Empire City, for more fresh produce.

Another Santa Fe reefer being sent back to the West Coast for cleaning and reloading of produce.

Another empty meat reefer headed for the Swift Packing Plant at the Denver Union Stockyards.

Followed by another Swift reefer car, also heading to the Denver Union Stockyard facility.

This Penn Central Hi-Cube boxcar is loaded with beer bottles from Corning Glass on the KP&W. It's headed to the Tivoli Brewery in the Auraria section of Denver. Tivoli only sells their beer in bottles.

Our final car from this section of cars is a PC gondola loaded with iron ingots from Kings Port Steel. It's also headed to the Auraria section of Denver. The ingots are for Vulcan Iron Works.

This concludes P.C.C.M. 51E. Hope you enjoyed the segment. Thanks for reading!!!

Nice job closing out P.C.C.M. 51!!! Another five layout virtual op is a success! I really enjoy seeing the lineup of engines and freight cars that pass thru Galesburg!!

    1. Thank you very much Sir John!!! Galesburg works so well for staging trains from the West. Almost like a Mid-Western version of Selkirk. Between Galesburg and Elkhart, there is a nice flow of traffic between the Eastern points of the PCCM and the Western destinations. Galesburg could also be the stage for a BN/PC exchange of the PCCM. Just a thought. Really enjoyed being part of a five layout, cross country version of the PCCM!

    1. Thanks Ralph!!! I took a little liberty and generated some traffic from Corning Glass and KP Steel. With the volume of traffic that’s generated from the Eastern layouts, I figured they would blend into the scheme of things. Really had fun being able to participate in the five layout PCCM!!!
